YOK – Pocketpunk 2026 (Accordion and Anarcho-Trash)
Yok plays songs, recites lyrics and sets the music alight in the process.
Yok was a taxi driver in Berlin for almost 30 years.
He talks about this in his new show, as well as the flashbulbs that are increasingly poisoning the social and political atmosphere.
In between, there’s plenty of music that Yok has been performing since 1984.
From 1989 to 1994, the band was called “Quetschenpaua”, and from 1995 to 1999, “Tod und Mordschlag”.
From 2001 to 2012 he was part of the musical theatre collective “Revolte Springen” and has been playing blank-cartridge punk with his band “option weg” since 2009.
Currently, his solo set also includes a few punk covers – on the accordion, mind you!
There will be short readings from the books NICHTS BLEIBT (Autobiography, 2019) and TAXITANIC (Driving a taxi is like punk, only with tyres and without boozing, 2025).
