Hanka and Bronka lead a quiet, hard-working life in a Polish village in north-east Romania. Their husbands have passed away and their children live abroad. Inseparable and with an unshakeable sense of humour, the two women cope with their everyday lives. When the war in Ukraine intrudes on their peace and seclusion, fear creeps in and the children are worried. Should they leave the village and each other or stay - despite the risk?
