Build my Robot

In this practice-orientated course, you will develop your own robot step by step and immerse yourself in various areas of robotics:

1. Drive & Motion

• Learn the basics of robot mechanics
• Assemble motors and understand how they work
• Experiment with different drive concepts
• Make your robot drive for the first time
• Discover how speed and precision are controlled

2. Smart remote control

• Integrate a microcontroller as the "brain" of your robot
• Learn the basics of microcontrollers
• Programming
• Develop a user-friendly app for control
• Connect your robot wirelessly to a smartphone or tablet - Learn how commands are converted into movements

3. Sensors & environmental perception

• Discover different sensor types and their possible applications
  
• Equip your robot with ultrasonic, light and touch sensors
• Learn how to read and interpret sensor data
• Programme your robot to react to environmental stimuli
• Develop simple autonomous behaviours

4. AI & object recognition

• Immerse yourself in the basics of artificial intelligence
• Implement machine learning algorithms on your robot
• Learn how computer vision systems work
• Teach your robot to recognise and classify objects
• Develop more complex autonomous behaviours based on visual data

Highlights:

You will receive a detailed certificate of completion documenting the skills you have acquired. You will present your self-built robot at the exciting CASUS event.
