Big cinema in a small format: six moving stories.
On Wednesday, 27 May 2026, the Camillo Kino Görlitz will be transformed into an arena for young filmmakers. In the short film competition of the Neisse Film Festival, directors from Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland and Belarus will present their latest works. You can expect a programme that knows no taboos and explores the boundaries of what can be told.
The films of the evening:
- The Seed of a Pomegranate (DE 2025): A fairytale-like but dark search for freedom and first love in isolation.
- Savagery (CZ 2025): A hunting party at a luxury resort that takes a completely unexpected turn. Satirical and surprising.
- My motherland is checkered (DE 2025): An impressive mix of animation and theatre, based on letters from political prisoners in Russian prisons.
- Sleep Dreams (CZ 2025): A visual reflection on sensory overload and the longing for an island of silence.
- Tenez (DE 2025): An intense psychodrama about a trauma in sports and the painful encounter with the past.
- The Final Test (BY/PL 2025): A surreal exam in an unusual classroom where there are no right answers.
