A timeless masterpiece of German rock history is celebrating its anniversary!
Having celebrated their phenomenal 50th anniversary in 2025 and completed an equally successful tour in 2026, the exceptional rockers of Karat are now setting their sights on their next creative high. In 2027, a very special milestone awaits: Claudius Dreilich (vocals), Bernd Römer (guitar), Martin Becker (keyboards), Daniel Bätge (bass) and Heiko Jung (drums) will be celebrating the ‘45th anniversary of Der blaue Planet’.
The band is using this historic occasion to put their absolute masterpiece in the spotlight on their upcoming 2027 tour. When the album “Der blaue Planet” was released in 1982, Karat were in their seventh year of existence. Although they had long since made music history by that point with unforgettable anthems such as “König der Welt”, “Schwanenkönig” and “Über sieben Brücken musst du gehen”, they reached a whole new level of quality with this album. It became the most successful Amiga LP in the entire rock/pop segment and made history as the first album by an East German band to go gold in West Germany, staying in the charts for 48 weeks and storming into the Top 10.
